just a poem about life
A dancer's grace
Toward the light
A frenzied pace
No end in sight
A brittle leaf
A crumbled stem
A barren branch
To catch the wind

A demon's lair
A shadow's cloak
Nothing to save
Her as she chokes
Upon the air
She cannot breathe
Anxious fear
She cannot leave

A balancing act
She knows the drill
Her empty soul
No thrill to feel
Two sides of a coin
She must flip
Each time her moods
Start to slip

She knows she must
Change her ways
Before the hazy drought
Of volcanic ash
Fills her with dreaded doubt
Staring through the looking glass
Searching for a way out
Trapped inside her own soul
Sinking in a bed of thorns

Praying for sweet release
She plays the game
With tears in her eye
Knowing failure calls her name
As she screams out her shame
For normal she can never be
Settling for an anomaly
