Prose-poetry from bleary eyes...
I kissed a girl in the hall last night.
It was dark inside. The chandelier was covered in concerns and dust.
The kids were silent; the dance was searching.
Hands held onto nothing as we danced.

The embrace was wrong.
"Hello," played the harpsichord as we whirled and smiled and
touched our lips to our own.
I kissed a girl last night.

I saw her image in the well last night.
Her eyes were wide with surprise, and
she looked right through me at the nothing.
"Make way for the coming," she said.
Fingers clutched her shawl with desperation, but
a smokey smile still played her lips.
I wanted to join her but
she was out of reach.

She was always out of reach.
I saw her image.

I loved a girl and took a fall last night.
I loved her, and that was my undoing.
I loved a girl and took a fall last night.

I loved.
