Writing for kids prompt August
Sitting pretty in the sun,
Do you want to play?
I know a game that's fun
To pass the day away.

Sitting pretty in the sun,
Do you need a friend?
Together we can be one
Where two once began.

Sitting pretty in the sun,
I can see you're in a hurry.
I want to have a song sung
When wishes fall in a flurry.

Sitting pretty in the sun,
I know you have to leave--
But know I wait for a time
When I can cling to your sleeve.

Sitting pretty in the sun,
No longer can I play
The game we played is done--
See you another day!
