I can't imagine how that looks.
“It’s raining cats and dogs,” she said.
I thought she was insane.
I can’t imagine how that looks,
‘cause it was only rain.

No cats or dogs came tumbling down,
just heavy sheets of wet.
No pigs or rabbits swept on by,
at least they hadn’t yet.

No cows or horses in the air,
no animals in sight.
When I looked up I didn’t see
a single bird in flight.

I guess if there’s a hurricane
things could fly in the air.
Tornadoes sure would stir things up.
Those winds might sweep trees bare.

But cats and dogs just falling down,
can you imagine that?
Well, if it happens, I’ll tell you,
I’d rather be a cat.

That nine lives thing would surely help,
of that there is no doubt.
I hope it doesn’t come to that,
I’d rather not find out.

Can you imagine Basset Hounds,
Dalmatians, corgis too?
All falling from that big gray sky.
I mean, what could we do?

Oh, global warming’s getting worse.
I think it’s out of hand.
There are so many nature things
I just don’t understand.

Who knows what may be coming next?
This world is getting strange.
Just when you feel we’re on the mend,
there comes another change.

Well, when the rain let up a bit,
I took a look around.
I was relieved I didn’t see
small critters on the ground.

No dogs or cats or guinea pigs,
nope, not a single pet.
But Armageddon’s on the way.
Yeah, that would be my bet.
