Conflicts of the Verteria Nation from Crown of Thorns
Threats to Virteria include tech and magic overload causing instability, rift breaches and energy surges. Cyber-magic hybrid systems are dangerous and push the limits of the world its infrastructure is beginning to fail to contain the strain of the growing amounts of power, in particular areas of most in danger is Neospire.

Supernatural and magical entities involve magical incursions or a rise in magical irregularities that destabilize cities and disrupt market flow. The Queen and her government must always be high alert to maintain equilibrium.

Class confliction and rebellion of social disparity is at a high time high in the present storyline. Economic inequality had reached a chronic, critical point that can no longer be ignored nor set aside. Radical groups have begun to emerge and have attempted multiple times and continue to create fear and rage directed at the government’s social standards. This manifests from social conflict and that the elite class is hoarding the magical and tech advancements for themselves, making the lower suffer.

Outsiders that wield influence and resource competition is draining the city of its strength. It severely lacks natural resources and makes it sustainable to economic backlash and military threats. The rumors of a foreign party/group is plotting to fully overthrow Virteria by cutting off its resource supplies, thus leaving it crippled without any kind of force to retaliate.

Corruption from within has also lead to this crumbling state, as certain elite factions are thirsty for power and greed, personal gain are also affecting the nation’s stability. The internal corruption has caused the Queen unable to confront the reformists from fully addressing the issues.

As for the opposition ah their desires are as follows

The Elite Classes are benefitting from the system, thus the primary force of resisting change. The desire to maintain power, wealth and influence has silently spread throughout the entire class. Many of them see losing their privileges as unacceptable and think anyone or anything that may tarnish their reputation should be controlled and subjugated to their whims.

The Reformists with the middle and lower class seek greater equality and access to monopolize resources from the elite’s grasp. Some call for peaceful means others are radical and demand justice and change immediately.

As for foreign nations, many view Virteria as a massive threat and target if ever vulnerable for exploitation. Most nations seek to take what they believe is rightfully theirs from the powerhouse nation. The risk of espionage, sabotage and war are quite likely.

Then there is the Radical Anti-Magic and Anti-Tech groups. These groups think Virteria has over stepped its bounds and have gone so far past what it should be naturally and wish to tear it down. They want to return the world to a more natural state and impose a regime that favors either tech or magic as they view the hybrid system as highly abhorrent and dangerous to all life.
