About This Newsletter

What is a mystery? It's like a puzzle. A reader has to discover the secret or riddle in order to solve it and find out who the criminal or enemy is. Clues are imperative, but should be puzzling. Make a reader have to think by using a strong plot that paints a picture in the reader's mind, yet leaves them guessing.*Smile*

*Star* What is your idea of a good mystery? Is it a cozy mystery with less action, a hard-boiled detective mystery, an amateur detective mystery, or one not mentioned here? *Star*

Letter from the editor

This weeks newsletter centers on my belief that anyone can write a mystery. While some say it is impossible, or that they just can't do it, I differ. Whether it be a poetic item, a chapter for a novel, or so forth, all it takes to spin a tale of mystery is a good imagination and the will to do so. *Wink* Let your imagination run rampant. Dream up both bad and good characters who remain mysterious until the end of your story, or not at all in some cases. Afterward, decide on where you want the setting/settings to take place, defining it or them as well as you have the characters. When you have done that, begin on the plot and whether you want a cozy or hard core mystery. Length is not important. Good stories require nothing more than good characters, settings, and plots, along with determination. Another suggestion is to challenge yourself. Set aside some time by creating something you may not have done before by writing a mystery or mystery combination. Believe in yourself, and let your Muse work to your advantage, keeping in mind that YOU CAN DO IT. *Smile*

**If you have a good mystery you would like read, post it here or email me. I just love a good mystery! *Delight* **
