Micro Action/Adventures
Is it possible to write anything without including at least a tiny little bit of action and adventure? I don't think so. How does a horror story create the chills for you? Either through a character going on a scary adventure or performing unsafe actions. Going into a dark basement is an action. Yes, I know this is a basic approach to defining action. However, there is no story without any action in it. Unless of course your action is about somebody sitting silently on a couch. Not much there.
Which brings me to "not much."
While a nice long and epic action adventure novel or even series of novels is a fun way to be taken away on adventures, it sometimes doesn't take more than a few well-placed words to capture you.
Writing in 55 word, 100 word, or 300 word vignettes is an art in itself. Oh, and did I mention haiku? Distilling a whole grand adventure or even just one scene into a very short text is not easy, but possible. Let this well-written essay on the topic guide you in finding your micro-fiction voice. "How To Write Good Flash Fiction" Then, go on and read some ultra-short stories. Finally, take part in the micro-fiction contests.

This author has written so many flash fiction stories, and not all are action/adventure in genre, but all highlight brevity in writing.

You're welcome.
k-9cooper wrote: Yes, I see what you mean. You have to make the character intresting. Dahh LOL. More like relatable. It is easier to read about a character that you can relate than one you can't.
Very true. Creating relatable characters is not always easy.
BIG BAD WOLF is Howling wrote: Plenty of excitement to be had. "Planet Animalus Book Summaries"
Why yes. That's why we write action/adventures. To create vivid fictional worlds first for us, then to share.
just4him wrote: Thank you for highlighting my newest work - Out of the Darkness. It was my NaNo book last year. Valerie "Invalid Item"
Epic body of work there. I felt it belonged in a newsletter about epic works.
