A Memorable Birthday
Ribbons, balloons, and candles
The atmosphere glows and sparkles
Laughter rings, and people chatter
As new and old friends come together

My birthday is filled with wonderful surprises
Lots of gifts and games with neat prizes
Cards filled with lovely expressions
Words of care and even silly puns

I can’t help but feel special today
And feel loved, like I am on display

All my indulgences are excused
Today, my diet will be abused
All my favorite foods to delight
I savor each and every single bite

The best part of my birthday
is not the delicious never ending buffet
nor is it the luscious cake and cookies
but the best parts are the lasting memories
