A terminal for all blogs coming in or going out. A view into my life.

Den 17 mai
National day of flag waving and parades in Norway (Constitution Day, 1814) but subdued this year as many activities are curtailed. I was hoping to be there last year. *CountryNO*

58 degrees at midnight.

Must say I liked Evelyn Wang's reaction/commentary on "1000 Stars". She comments on Asian culture, which is helpful to non-Asian viewing audiences.

I watched the excerpt from the Quills that Norb posted. Words do have different meanings culturally and in various dialects. What is seldom acknowledged is the rejection of other people's holidays. Eid al-Fitr was just celebrated but would a story based on it be acceptable to the WDC audience that is mostly White-Western and Christian?

Bloggers bugged:

59 degrees already. Will be a scorcher today. Now a toasty 77 at 1:25.

Scored meatloaf. Angry about someone pulling up the tarragon as if it were a weed. I don't volunteer because anyone with expertise is devalued.

The intersection is paved and sidewalk is partially poured and the remaining railings may be up by next Tuesday and we'll be able to walk across the bridge.

I need a coffee.

82 degrees here at 5:15. 45 and damp in Tromso Norway at 1 am. *Sun* They now have the midnight sun for two months.
