I mentioned to Norma: "We were raised in a black/white good/bad guys culture. We were taught that the American Christian way was the Only Way, that there were good gods (ours) and bad gods (theirs) quoting the Hebrews as recorded in the OT.

Reality was never that simple. Not biologically nor scientifically, certainly not religiously. But we weren't exposed to Reality.
