general Oak for weekly challenge

General Oak Weekly Challenge

The ancient oak tree
Had stood the test of time
For hundreds of years
It stood there

In what became a city
In the thousand Oaks
Neighborhood of Berkeley

He had seen it all
Heard it all
Been there through thick
And thin

Now he was the dean
Of the old trees
His spirit still alive

But one day
The monster storm
Spawn by climate change

Finally took him down
The neighborhood mourned
when he was cut down
a placard was erected.

“Here stood General Oak
Who lived 550 years
The gaurdian angel
Of the Thousand Oaks community
He will be missed”.
