In his first run for office
Learned a vital lesson
It was best to not be too smart
To lose the Harvard accent
And sound like a not-too smart
Good Old boy with a Texas Accent

After a wild night
Woke up in a dark forest
Being chased
by banshees, Cthulu, devils, demons, dwarfs
ghosts, giants, goblins, ghouls,
monsters, orcs, wild things,
werewolves and zombies
To the gates of Hell

A retired diplomat
Thinking back on his life
He was filled with pride
He had accomplished so much
Despite a childhood learning disability
And being half blind
And half deaf
