Envy - Week 45

Envy


People must think what they will,
facts are often disputed.
I live quietly and still,
many sins to me are imputed.

If I work to be a success,
they’ll say my money’s inherited.
They'll refuse to be impressed,
claim my promotion’s unmerited.

It’s just a game that they play,
the rumors they spread with glee.
As the broken mirror might say,
it’s no reflection on me.
