Emptiness Week 46
Morning hides its ashen face, while
holding back tears in leaden eyes.
Ashamed to show itself, well- knowing,
the void o’er which it hangs these skies.

I search the misty shroud of days,
all gone now, but loved well when
the Sun shone upon all our faces,
our freckled cheeks, our burnished chins.

Now the emptiness echoes so,
with this wistfulness for laughter
It’s a knife that slices to the soul
only loneliness - forever mine - hereafter.
