Prompt 2 As the day unfolds

Prompt 2 “as the day unfolds” is to be used in the poem.

Monday, Monday
Another first day of the week,
Near to me lay
A full list to do or to tweak.

First I told Jill
We could meet on Monday for lunch,
But working still
On words I’d need based on a hunch.

My staff meeting
Was boring beyond a belief,
Felt I should sing
Agenda was awfully weak.

Led up to break
My favorite part of the day,
Need my crumb cake
To lead my team in the right way.

My suit looks great
Shopping for it gave me a high,
New hope for mate
Whose assistance will get me by.

Today was not
The day that comes to fruition,
Time on the pot
Did not daunt my premonition.

On this Monday
And as the day unfolds to be,
A day for play
For all in my office to see.

Work is for real
Not a place I want to stay long,
Cog in the wheel
That’s making our company strong.

That my dear friends
I have been meaning to make clear,
As Tuesday tends
Always is a pain in the rear.
