This stuffed Beanie Baby dog came tagged "tracker" which fits my search for knowledge.

Here are words I like to write
All day long 'til it is night.
Words go up and words go down
When complete approve the sound.

If you complete my little rhyme,
Things will come your way in time.

My head is all over the place today. The last couple of days have been so wonderful I hope to never land from floating on the sunshine and lollipops that make up my life.

Prompt: What does "Dance Like No One is Watching" mean to you? If you need inspiration, listen to Gabby Barrett

I have never been a great dancer. Despite that fact, I love to dance. When I hear music, like Gabby Barrett, I am moved to move, sway, or a full-on dance.

The saying means that when you are not in front of others, an audience, your natural abilities, desires, and performance is going to be more gratifying. The feeling of not being judged lends itself to more honest behavior.

Prompt: Would you rather be a famous writer, a Rock Star or a Doctor who finds a cure for cancer? Write about this in your Blog entry today

I would love to be a rock star from which I would make oodles of money to support my novel writing hobby. My doctorate would be in molecular biology which would allow me to work on cancer research in my spare time, like backstage before a concert or when my muse goes on hiatus.

Maya Angelou said, "To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow."

My mother was a turtle. She was introverted, the opposite of me, with little to say unless asked. When asked, she poked her head out of her shell and talked until your butt got sore sitting there listening to her. She never walked fast or rushed a thing in her life. Look at me. She waited until the very last day of the year to have me. I do know the turtle wins the race. She won my heart, respect, and forever love. She has been gone since 2002. I miss her more now near Mother's Day.

Note: Her favorite color was lavender.

Please use these words in your entry today: Mother, accurate, handy, relevance, reckless, swop, fork, and accountable.

Mother and I met for our usual Saturday lunch date. We were seated at our favorite booth. She was given a seniors menu. It had been a drama-filled Friday the day before. I was eager to tell her all about it. She was a good listener and never rushed me.

My friend, Sue, was arrested for reckless driving. She called to ask me to call her mother and explain what happened. She talked about camping with her boyfriend, Jon. To me, it had no relevance but I was not going to interrupt her train of thought. She called at dawn. My mother knew Sue well which is why she was not surprised. I dropped my fork. She asked if I was sure Sue said reckless. I assured her it was accurate.

She had babbled on about Jon and camping, and not saying how or why she was driving like a maniac. The girl was never accountable for her actions. I checked to see if the waiter was handy to bring me a clean fork and refill our drinks. He was and picked up our glasses to refill them and swap out my dirty fork.

My mother took a sip, looked up at me, and said how happy she was to have me for her daughter. That was Mother's Day 2002. She was gone on the seventh of July. I tell my daughter how happy I am to have her as my daughter and have heard her tell her daughters the same thing. It is a beautiful thing to say and hear.

It was brought to my attention, in a blog entry regarding all the (not so good) things that go on in America, that we write our dates wrong. Most of the world, he writes, uses the day, month, year format. I like it so hope to remember to use it in my blog. I was not crazy about the long list of things about Americans, but remembered to respect the freedom of someone to express their thoughts.

I admit it. I do not have time to do everything. If I make a formal blog review, responding to a blogging group's post, I take great care writing it. I know at least one person from the group will read it. I want it to be presented and written well. That is time consuming.

I have the reviewing down. I take the opportunity early in my day to review someone who I come in contact with. Someone who reviewed me, something drawing my attention in the Newsfeed, or a Newbie. That is when I have time to go into the Newsfeed. I let that go in favor of monitoring the progress of fulfilling the Auction packages and raffle ticket goodies. All is under control.

I was not certain when or how I would contact the few people who owe for their bids. I put that off for a few more days.

Ideas here,
Ideas there,
Ideas are hiding
Everywhere!

An essay inspired from a segment of the "Sunday Morning" TV show I saw this morning, regarding doing nothing, is the topic for only my second essay in the past year. It comes at a time when Congress has a bill they are considering to lower the required minimum full-time work week from 40 to 32 hours. A new book called "Do Nothing" promotes spending periods of your day spend not doing anything. Any work, that is. Dining out, walking down the lane/beach/mountain trail are just a few of the things that one can argue is doing something but it is not working really.

Important to me was the report that people over 65 don't like to do "nothing," many working past the generally accepted retirement age. Scientists at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology} report the brain needs to spend some time each day letting go of the cognitive brain to let the subconscious have a turn.

The author of "Do Nothing" gave the lion as an example of an animal who works very little (seeking and killing its dinner} while spending the bulk of its time sleeping/napping/doing nothing.

Was it Colonel Klinger on the TV show "Hogan's Heroes" who said "Veddy In-ta-resting?"

Corrected: "Veddy in-ta-resting" comes from Laugh-In, a German soldier character played by Arte Johnson while smoking a cigarette. Thanks s

Describe a specific sound, smell, taste, etc in your blog today that irritates you more than anything, like chalk squeaking on a blackboard.

I love my sister who is closest to me in age. I had three. We shared a bedroom until we were sixteen and thirteen. She was not good at putting toys away or making her bed. I covered for her always. She has a habit that drives me up the wall. She will put ice in a glass and then chew it cube by cube. She will do the same with anything she is drinking with ice cubes. She will shake that ice into her both and crunch, crunch, crunch. She doesn't live in the same state and we don't get together often anymore. We were on Facetime recently and there she was with her ice. Ewwwwww6.

I am thinking about downloading my blog and removing the first year. I was feeling vulnerable and removed most of my personal photos not long ago. I was reminded when someone asked me what happened to an image. I put one on my first trinket which I may retire. I am all over the place with anonymity. I am pasting my first entry.

I am looking forward to the rest of the month. Two family birthdays are left to celebrate. It is pretty much the only time we have cake. The birthday boy or girl selects the kind of cake they want. In February, the request was for an ice cream cake. Not on my food list but oh well. It is good manners to accept a piece of cake if you have no dietary issues doing so.

My next two paragraphs went to cyberspace. I am using a brand-new laptop. It is so sensitive, particularly if I let my left wrist lean on the keyboard. I am better off writing in Word first. My old Word did not transfer over. I am just a wee bit techy challenged. I have my former laptop. I keep both on my desk so that I can use the features I am familiar with on the old, then figure out how to get them on the new.

I am struck by the overwhelming willingness of members to render aid to someone like me. It is a warm feeling to know people care.

Peace out,
tracker
