| Thursday June 19, 2024 5:10 pm WdC time  Prompt: What is your night time ritual like? Has it evolved with you over time? When you get to be my age, rituals are broken down by several decades combined as one. Growing up had strict schedule. Bath, teeth, bed by 8pm. When I was in high school bedtime moved to 9pm. I was a wannabe morning person. College: Shower, teeth, and bed by whenever. Moving toward night person. Kids: Quick shower, swipe them teeth, up at 4:30 am, worked 5 am to 1:30 pm, left work to pick kids up from school take them to different practice fields for sports, soccer and baseball/softball, supper mostly pizza, collapsed in bed by 9:00pm.The kids had a bedtime of 7 pm until they were in middle school. Kids married and gone: Sleep until almost noon. Long, long hot showers, brushed and flossed those teeth, and to work by 3pm. Totally a night person. Did not see the sunrise, except maybe when I was sick or the cat woke me up early, for years. Skip to being a VOP (Very Old Person). Up most days before noon, shower optional, day spent doing what I feel like doing along with daily chores, nighttime is the best when the rest of the house is asleep. Usually fit in a shower, pampering, and writing/reviewing/emailing. Around 2 to 3 am I am working an online jigsaw puzzle and playing a few rounds of mahjongg and words with friends to wind down. This morning I went to sleep at 3 and the dog woke me to go out at 4:57 am. Up for a minute or ten then slept until 11ish. I am just now hitting my stride. The family is out so my tunes are blaring while I will not start work on math homework. Aren't you glad you posed the question? |
| Tuesday June 18, 2024 2:40 am WdC time Out of 1,000 possible points, I earned 1,000 points in my Survey of Alternate Medicine class. My GPA is still not at my goal 3.5. It is 3.48. Math starts today. Ugh. 3:50 pm I am focusing on my Quantitative Methods math class. Some things here will have to slide. |

| Friday June 14, 2024 12:25 pm WdC time Today I have high hopes to meet all of my habit hero goals. I have been slacking off. I am anxiously awaiting my grade for my latest class called Survey of Alternate Medicine. Fulfills my science requirement for my degree. The grade will be in by the end of the day today. I will get a notification when it is posted. Then, my friends, 2 more classes/10 weeks I get my bachelor's degree. Yippee!! My granddaughter's home was not damaged by the wildfire, which is finally getting some containment. Today it is 20% contained. That is all for now! tracker UPDATE 10:20 pm WdC time I am getting so much done that I believe I will hit every goal today. I need to make them all accomplished every day. |
| Thursday June 13, 2024 9:30 pm WdC time Yesterday, around 5 pm, a wildfire started near a state highway. It quickly spread and by six o'clock by granddaughter and her husband had to evacuate their home. They were not allowed back until 3:00 pm today. Six homes burned to the ground. Theirs had no damage. They live about 45 mins from me. It was frightening. |
| Sunday June 9, 2024 10:40 am Today will be finish your essays for school day. I may be MIA often starting Tues. I will be filling my math requirements for my bachelor's degree. I am dreading the class in Qualitative Methods. I attempted to get the math done through Sophia, an online accredited school providing numerous basic classes such as algebra. I could not muster a 70 percent average. I do not understand much beyond basic math. I am going in with an open mind. Today I will also be purging. When I get in that frame of mind, no file is safe. The focus will be email which has become sixty percent full. I misplaced my TV remote 3 days ago. It has a screen saver which has been showing me a great slide show. I do want to watch my Sunday morning show, "Sunday Morning." That is all. |
| Saturday June 8, 2024 2:45 am WdC time Entry #2 today!! Happy 50th Birthday to my son.  Use these words in your entry: bathtub, fill, customer, dictate, axis, essay, and dribble. Valerie woke up late. She thought she hit the SNOOZE button but hit OFF instead. She rubbed her eyes, walked to the bathroom, and turned the faucet on setting it on high and hot in her bathtub. She dreaded going to the office today. She had to conduct a meeting with a customer at 10 o'clock. It was a little after 9. She rushed to get dressed. Today's meeting would dictate she would be dressed in a business suit. Luckily, she had picked up her suits at the dry cleaners earlier in the week. After the meeting, she sat on her large leather office chair, arranged her notes, and prepared an essay, detailing the top three concerns. She copied Stuart knowing he would use that as an excuse to call her into his office to discuss last night. On their date, she had her fill of Stuart. She listened to his dribble through dinner, which continued at the movie. theatre. She was embarrassed as people were whispering while pointing toward him. She ended it with him tonight She was as sure about her decision as the earth turns on its axis. |

| Friday June 7, 2024 1:30 am PROMPT: "Summer means happy times and good sunshine. It means going to the beach, going to Disneyland, having fun." — Brian Wilson Netflix has a documentary about the Beach Boys right now. I lived through every occasion that was discussed. I was a teenager when their hits started coming. My family moved to California, a town about an hour and a half drive from the beach, from New Jersey. I was a new student in my new high school class. The school was not one building like New Jersey, but a series of bungalows, each one for a different subject. You would have a homeroom to start your day, then move from building to building, class to class. In the summer, for the first 3 summers I lived there, I spent most of each day at the beach. I was allowed to drive one of the family cars. Sunshine every day. You would need to arrive at the beach after about 10 am which is when the ocean fog would burn off. It would begin getting chilly as the sun started its descent. I have been to Disneyland countless times. Many high schools had class parties there. On those occasions, the park would be closed to the public. Nowadays, the park stays open late for everyone. I doubt they have those kinds of private parties. Those summers, in the sunshine, playing volleyball, and playing in the ocean, are some of my fondest memories. The short answer is summers at the beach as well as trips to Disneyland mean happy times. |
