The river dammed

I am the channeled and the dammed.
I meet your expectations, quench your thirst.
I am the bound and tamed.
I die within or burst.
No fish swim in my polluted depths,
no birds come to sing.
Only lotus floating up through muck
smiles at my rotting profundities.
Oh, set me free. Oh, let me go.
Let my banks overflow.
Let me carve out new channels,
no longer damned by your false thanks,
no longer limited by your expectations.

Another inspired by the workshop on Saturday, "Writing the River and the Road".

ME:

A bit rattled. My Plan B has been derailed a bit. Some friends need to stay on their meds ...

Otherwise okay. Cold. I may not warm up till Summer!

And then Carol told me about caressing the coconut at the supermarket, A with his 'Italian bangs' and being bit on the butt by a parrot.

Whoever said they are bored doesn't know the folks I know!

WATT'S GNUS:

Nothing!

Mount Sunflower is the highest point in Kansas:

Enjoy the view of the rarified heights!

WRITING:

As I wrote zwisis I'm still on my O'Keeffe kick. I'm running out of postcards to write to, but some of her most interesting stuff is on line! *Smirk* And I've only written about two of her many flowers. *Blush*

IMAGINE:

Oyster crackers crumbled, mixed with butter, artichokes, heated and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Yum!

Where I'm sitting and pecking away at the keyboard:

Kansas: 48º and cold cold sun. ** Image ID #1329288 Unavailable ** .
