The April 20, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" ![]() Today is National Record Store Day...what's the first vinyl album, cassette or cd you ever remember getting? We always had records in our house. My grandparents had a RCA Victor Victrola AM Radio and Record Player Cabinet model. I am not sure what year it was because it was a large piece of furniture setting in living room across from the television set. Grandpa was one of those people who, if he could afford it, always had the latest technology. I remember sitting in the living room and listening to the radio or a record played on that record player. I know the record player would play 78 and 45 records, but I don't know when Grandpa bought it so I can't say what year it was made. As for the first record I bought. It had to be either Elvis Presley or the Everly Brothers, but I'm not sure which one I bought first. I had a whole collection of Elvis Presley, Everly Brothers, and other popular singers. I listened to them all the time and some I sang along with when I was a teenagers. Despite the stress of my teen years, I was probably a typical teenager or at least I thought I was at the time. |
