Days of Peace, Days of Joy

The days of peace and days of joy
are promised days beyond the pain,
But maybe they will live with me,
though outside falls the heavy rain.

The days of joy and days of peace
are wonders in this grieving shade.
The daily search for happy thought
still questions when the grief be paid.

The days of peace with joy of heart
as carrot test the strength of faith.
The eyes now down through effort lift
and gift of hope be greatest grace.
