"Prompt: Discuss whatever in a blog entry, story or poem what happened on this day in the year you were born or as close as you can get."

Nothing of particular historical significance happened this day in 1961 although the Vietnam War was just getting started. Unlike many wars it wasn't fought because somebody was trying to impose their religious ideas onto somebody else. It was fought to prevent the spread of communism, which didn't work. Communists still took over Vietnam.

Many religious wars are fought in the name of Christ, which was not His will at all. Jesus taught us that we are to love others. It is very difficult to love somebody you're trying to kill. If the whole world would only become Christians and unite under one flag there would be no wars. However as long as sin reigns supreme in men's hearts there will be war.
