My thoughts, inpsirations and general rambling on writing and reading.
It starts at the end of most important year for me (2006 that is). Started living on my own, changed job and started to write again. What does inspire me, what makes me happy and what sad.

When I woke up today and looked through my window I saw snow. It's the first snow from the beginning of winter. It's end of January already and weather has been nasty here but still it was no snow or any other sign of the season. There was also no snow in the mountains and even for the skiing competitions that was held in Zakopane, they needed to make artificial snow as the nature haven't provided any.
It does show what is happening to our climate and that's not a good thing. We already have six people killed by the winds here in Poland.
So I truly think we as a whole must rethink our behaviour towards the planet. Or the planet would destroy us. We can't make such an imbalance in the environment and then complain on the weather.
And still are so many people thinking it has nothing to do with them.
How sad...

Yup,
I've been trying to get myself write nwe entry here since Christmas. Lot of things happened but still I tried to review at least one item a day.
It is my goal I've set for myself just after joning WDC. What I did because of possibility of posting my writing here. However, with my writing going a bit slow or not going at all I've started reviewing. And, my, isn't that addictive?
To be honest I have never reviewied anything at all before. I mean not seriously. I had been giving my opinions& advices to some of my writings friends but it was never something I gave much thought and attention.
But here I had to stop and think what really makes me like or dislike the particular story. I had to do some serious work. In time I see how much my comprehension and even more perception of mechanism of the written word are clearer to me. To be concious of what makes you like story is a very powerfull tool for a writer. it's not easy to spot these things in your own writing. At least not as easy as in the writing of others. As a popular saying goes you never see your own mistakes.
It was so rewarding when I saw I received a merit badge for reviewing. It's so nice.
So I go on reviewing today as I had not fulfilled my today's goal and maybe something inspires me for that short-piece for a competition I'm trying to write.

It is my first entry and I want it to be perfect. It has been so long time that I wasn't writing much or even at all.
I usually write fantasy and fanfiction to "Vampire:the Masquarade".
Most of my creation is done in my mother language - Polish. Writing is very important to me for I write since my twelve birthday. The first time I got "Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkien that belonged to my father.
I remember that I was really scared of this book because first Polish edition had a grey, sad cover but when I started I couldn't put it back on the shelve before I read it whole.
After I had finished I started making stories on my own, making up languages.
Only about two years ago I stopped writing. It was a hard time for me both professionaly and personally.

Since this December I had revived my writing and think that I could put somewhere the results. I had them published in Polish but then, there was always danger my family read them and I wanted to avoid this.
Finding writing.com wasn't a revelation. I waited some time before finding time to look more closely on it and when I did I was sure it is what I was looking for.
