"Failure is unimportant. It takes courage to make a fool of yourself."
CHARLIE CHAPLIN
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.
David Whyte
This is my supplementary blog in which I will post entries written for prompts.
Hardy and Moore to me as well were boring school assignments like you. I've read every Dickens book as well. I agree with you about favorite author of the 19th century. He died in 1870.
I chose some hard quotes this week but I found this interesting. I like your views. I may do my own take on this. A good entry with nice philosophy views.
I was proud/happy that I kept up daily exercise in Thailand and that I learned how to swim. However, back to boring routines in Montana. I'm proud that I remenbered to water a plant today and that I entered contests here before the last minute. The pride is in setting a goal, remembering it and then actually doing it. Small victories.
Simplicity to me reminds us of each moment allowing us to be humble and hopefully ethical as well. I wish I could humble assures authenticity but it doesn't because I've known people that on the surface seem very humble but have been discovered to be otherwise.
Sometimes, I feel like when I write that I am bleeding.
I on more than one occasion have thought Quasi was snuggling against me when I was asleep but when I open my eyes he's not there. He's been gone for ten years but I know he's with me still. All my cats are with me, I feel them.
Prompt: Use these random words in your entry today: volatile, desperation. jump, arena, personal, twist, and July.
-----
"From the Frying Pan into the Fire"
In the sweltering *arena
of my everyday life and
on this *July day with heat
so *volatile, I aim
--in *desperation--
to cope, while
I hope for something
cool and fun, and I *jump
with a *personal *twist
into the pool
almost boiling hot
under the sun.
