it's fantasy - you can use whatever creatures you want. You can make them up, use ones we have now, use extinct ones, whatever. If you make up the world from scratch (i.e., not Earth), then where they live does not matter. But if you have a dingo living in a forest, it will not survive. Look at the places these animals live now, and place them in the climates in your world accordingly.
If you create animals, sometimes it is a good thought experiment to work out how they evolved. That will also give you an idea as to how they can cope in the world and where their niche sits.
The wolf-lion hybrid is an interesting one. Think about this, though; wolves are pack hunters, lions are solo hunters. Which way is this going to go? That will make that the dominant animal in the hybrid, which could help you round it out. Anyway, just a thought.
