Firstly, the creature you created, the Woler, sounds and looks awesome. I love it and think you should absolutely use it your story. Secondly, when it comes to fantasy, there's really no limit to what animals you can use. You don't have to make up a bunch of weird-looking animals, but you absolutely can if you want, and it works for your story. Or you can use animals we have here. Or you can use both. It all depends on the works best for the world you're building.
