Who are you?

It is very dark. The only lighting comes from sparsely mounted globes that glow with a soft white luminescence and from the occasional bluish-white shower of sparks or lightning-like flash overhead. The constant echo of whirring and grinding noises are interrupted only by the all-too-frequent blood curdling scream. The fetid smell of sweat, decay, and something unnamable hangs heavily in your nostrils. There must some a way out of this waking nightmare.
