You are a human. Thousands of years ago humans ruled the world, there was art, culture, that kind of thing. But then the monsters arrived. They were huge, and we had no way to fight them. The world was theirs in a matter of days after their surfacing, and what was left of humanity hid in the dark, being little more than vermin compared to them.
