A girl runs away to Mexico with her boyfriend.
A girl runs away,
To find a better place.
She runs to Mexico,
Where she dreams holds all her hope.

She wants so much more,
That's why she'd flung open the door.
And run to the end of the street,
Where she'd told her boyfriend they would meet.

She gets in the car, and turns to the window.
Trying not to let him see the tears flow.
But he sees and he asks, "Are you sure you want to go?"
She nods, and they speed away from her home.

The next day,
She's okay.
Already forgetting,
No longer missing,
Her home.

She glances at the dark-eyed man,
Staring at his big strong hands,
Dreaming of their future,
And she thinks it will come true.

So she cradles his hand,
In the palm of her own.
And stares out,
At the stretching road.

Yes she stares out at the stretching road,
Praying, laughing, dreaming, running.
Thinking of the love she hopes to be showed.
Not knowing that it's there...

Waiting at home.
