A poem about losing a lover
When we touched I felt lifted high
far above the world I floated
caught in the purest ecstasy
when we kissed I could feel the wind
sweeping me away into the sky
when we spoke I could feel your love
I gave you my heart and soul
you gave me yours
I gave you my mind
you gave me your life
I should have been the one to die
but in the end would this torment
that I endure for my life
have been better for you than death
no
no
it is not
I will hold your loss close to my heart
for this is all I can do
your death has deprived me so
but in the end it is better that I be the one
to have you hold this pain is to cruel
simple words cannot state
this pain I hold to my heart
for love I will hold it until I die
