This was written as a song and became a poem with a few changes.
What has happened to the summer; where has the summer gone?
What has happened to the sunshine, and where is summer's song?
Where do you spend the other seasons, now you've played your summer game?
What have you done with all the sunshine; why have you sent the rain?

How will I make it through the winter, knowing you are gone?
What has hapened to the summer, and where is summer's song?
Summer's gone, and with it goes the roses and the bluebells close their eyes.
Summer's gone and with it goes my sunshine, you have flown to bluer skies.

What has happened to the summer? Where has the summer gone?
What has happened to my sunshine; where have you gone with summer's song?
Shall I follow you to springtime, would it make a difference then?
If I follow you to springtime would you bring summer back again?

What has happened to the summer; where has the summer gone?
What has happened to the summer, and where is summer's song?
Shall I follow you to springtime, would it make a difference then?
I would follow you to Heaven if I could have you back again.
