Written for my cat who died two weeks ago
We kept looking for you, calling out your name, but you never came home. It was late night, so I couldn't go out after you. 11 am, yes, that was the time. They turned the corner, mom and sis, and came back with the news. I rushed outside into the street, and spotted you from the other side. We went closer to you, and I felt a lump in my throat, seeing you lie there in the grass, lifeless. Blood dripping from your mouth, now dried up on your face, a case of poisoning. I know who did that, but God will avenge you.

It looked liked you were sleeping, like you always did. I wanted to pat you to wake you up, to say, "Mano, look, I brought you milk."

Your brother was sad since morning. He had known. I came home and cried silently. the tears just wouldn't stop. They buried you that evening, 19th December 2010, Sunday.

Life goes on, but while I writing this, tears welled into my eyes again. You were only 7 months. It's not such an age. I miss you still, and nothing can replace you, ever. Even your brother has become lonely. He didn't play with me for two days, but he also knew that he had to move on. I'll miss you when there would be nobody to slide off the window, waking me up, nobody to rub against my feet, nobody to play with your brother. But you shall always remain in our hearts. I shall never forget that innocent face, your grey tail, and that grey spot on your head. You were white all over. You were really a very nice animal, and a loyal friend. May you rest in peace!!!!
