It might remind you of the movie dinosaurs, but the is no happy ending, OR strange mammal
Last one Standing

One by one they begin to drop, but we must go on always on to find a home where green still grows, to find a place that the sun shines bright.

His head falls low to the ground his body
sways to the breeze. He begins to slow then he
stops falling to his knees. Mom is sad, he cries
out, on we walk ... and then he drops to the
ground.

We must keep moving, we cannot stop. To stop
means to fall and not get up. Food is scarce, the
world's dark. Night is day, they are one.

With each hour that passes more and more drop
aside. Eyes ahead, don't look back. The
predators, the sharp tooth creatures have come to
feed on our weak.

Looking back I remember the day when my life
so very changed. leaves where out, green and
pure. Then the sky fell in one fiery blast
straight from the heavens to the world below.

Flash, crash, shock felt around the world.
many drop right where they stand, many fell never
to rise again. The world turned dark as the
bottomless pits.

Days went past. Plants all died. The herd
moved on. Across the land, in search of food,
green life to eat.

We're picked off one by one. Hunters are all
around, on are heels, breathing down are necks,
there's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

Weeks go by and I stand alone. No friends or
family beside me, no carnivores in pursuit. The
dust has cleared, the sky is blue, grass grows at
my feet.

I look up as the rain soaks the ground, but it
is to late for me to be saved, I am the last of
all to fall.

The world goes quiet, not a sound is heard.
Now I go to join my herd.
