My observations while watching my sister one day.
Underneath A Fountain Of Tears

I watch on as she falls to the floor in despair. Her courage forcing her to get up and face the world again. She hides behind a strong face holding back the tears that are dieing to flow. She walks from room to room looking for the answers that she may never find. He has trapped her. Trapped her in a world that she can't bare to leave. Trapped by the lies of love and happiness which she never see's, but hopes for. She looks out of the window, across the street and out into the world. She wants to leave but can't stand the thought of being alone.

Underneath her frail skin is a heart of gold, looking for the strength to get past the demons in front of her. Frightened of what may come if she lets go of what she has. Frightened of being her only companion. As her eyes fill with tears, she begins to wander how she does it. How her heart puts up with this much torture, day in and day out. 'But love is what matters,' she says to herself. 'It doesn't matter what else happens, because he loves me and I love him.' But is that really what love is meant to be. Lies and controlling of the mind, heart and body.

I watch on as she falls, hoping that someone catches her before it's too late. My words go through her, without taking effect. Only he matters to her. She's given up her life for one man, a man who doesn't treat a woman like a woman should be treated. I stand by her, a constant reminder that he isn't all there is in the world, but she doesn't see it. All she see's is him. I will stand, for as long as it takes, I will stand here beside her.

One day she will learn. One day she will see what the rest of us see. And it will hurt her. It will hurt her deaply and she will not want to go on, but she is strong and she will be better for it. He will be gone one day and I am greatfull for that. She deserves so much better in her life than that. She will miss him every day, always and forever, but she will live. She will be happy again, I just wait for time to take me to that place. Until then, I will be beside her. With more love than she could get from any man.
