Written one night when I couldn't sleep because of a storm.
A streak of lightening flashes
Across the midnight sky,
Illuminating this small town
But fading, it soon dies.

The rolling thunder echoes down
The lonely city streets.
It shakes the bed and pounds my heart,
I feel every beat.

Rain falls in sheets, blown by the wind,
Onto the thirsty ground,
Where it will soak the whole night through
And puddles will be found.

But soon the clouds are blown away,
Off to some distant land.
Here the sun comes out of hiding
To shine upon this land.

And so the storm is gone,
Leaving nothing behind
But a vauge memory
Stored somewhere in my mind.
