The Kiowa Indians go to their winter camp, and all is well. Suddenly, word travels quick that a hoarse was slaughtered at the camp – slit at the throat. Then, some more humans are killed. The whole camp is convinced they’re dealing with a shape shifter. (One who kills in order to take the spirit, and be able to become that thing.)


The main character, Tay-bodal, is a medicine man, and not very attractive, or trustworthy. Soon, the village will accept him, though, as a detective.

The humor of the book. It was a good read, and gave you some nice laughs. The characters are all very well formed.

Sometimes it was a bit confusing, but I was young when I read it, and I doubt I’d have the same difficulty in following if I were to read it again soon.

It's funny, has an interesting story line, and the characters are excellent!

I rated the "Usefulness" 3 because you do learn about the Kiowa Indians a bit.
