Summary of this Book...
Harry Potter is feeling neglected after finishing his fourth year at Hogwarts. There have been hardly any owls from anyone, and putting up with the Dursley's goes with the territory. There has been no news of Voldemort on the TV, and Harry begins to worry. One night, he threatens Dudley with his wand and some dementors begin to show up on their street. Harry stops them heroically, but is accused of using magic outside of school.

When Harry gets past his expulsion hearing, he returns to Hogwarts bitter and angry. He has to deal with the new Defense of the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge, who is also seen as a threat to Harry and the rest of the school. Ordinary Wizarding Levels (O.W.L's) also loom for him and the rest of the fifth years. There is also reoccuring dreams he has of going down long hallways and closed doors, and the increasing pain of his scar. This will definately be a trying year for the young wizard.
I especially liked...
I liked the return of many regulars like Lupin, Mad Eye Moody, and Dobby. The new characters Tonks and Luna Lovegood were also well developed. I liked how Rowling made Harry bitter and angry because that comes with growing up. Ron is finally given some good fortune and taken seriously for once. Hermione still continues her cause for houselves with hilarious results. I also liked last few chapters which are full of mystery, action and revelations galore for young Potter.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I can't wait for the sixth year. I hope she doesn't take too long with it. But if she does, I'll be waiting *Smile*.
This Book made me feel...
I had many emotions when reading this book. I laughed at the funny moments, and cried during the much talked about death of one of the characters. It was no wonder JK cried when writing the scene.
The author of this Book...
JK continues to impress me. She even has recieved acolaides from one of the best writers of the present, Stephen King.
I recommend this Book because...
This was just a great book all around. It will keep the reader's interest.
Further Comments...
Well, I am now caught up with the series. It took me four weeks to get through book five (I started reading it the day it came out), and I enjoyed every minute of it. I can tell the ride for Harry will get pretty bumpy from here on out, as there are two books left in the series. Let's hope there are more amounts of thrills in the sixth book. Book five has left open a couple of loose ends that will most likely be answered in the remaining novels. In closing, a very good book that has lived up to the hype and my expectations. Bravo, Ms. Rowling.
