Lord Vandeiman, Con Somerford and George Hawkinville have all returned from the horrors of Waterloo. They each find salvation in the arms of their prospective wives. Palatable historical romances and not terribly predictable. I never really sighed over any of the heros and the heroines were uniformly bland.

Clearly Jo Beverly has a major following of her "Rogues" (sub characters in these novels) and there are many references to happenings and people in previous novels. This was tolerable in the first two stories. The last story distracted me to no end with references to something that I think was the basis of a previous novel. I found it bothersome in the extreme. I expect a long-time fan of Jo Beverly would have found it entertaining.

Historical details were very good- she clearly knows her stuff. Plots were full of intriguing bits, but no real threat to the future happiness of our lovers was ever brought out. Happily ever after was clearly where we were going.

Overall, a reasonable use of my spare time. I won't necessarily be looking for more of her titles.
