Summary of this Book...
Tim Parry was fatally injured in the IRA bombing of Warrington England. He later died of his injuries. This book is written by his father who wanted to share his son with the world. It follows the family from the moment they found out that their son was injured, to one year to the day. Colin and Wendy Parry and their surviving children are amazing.
This type of Book is good for...
Everyone! Anyone who wants to see peace achieved.
I especially liked...
The wonderful way that Colin makes you feel as though he is sitting with you talking to you face to face. Its so well written that he immediatly makes you feel like his closest friend.
I didn't like...
The fact that I couldnt read more than four pages of the book at a time. Its so very touching and heartbreaking that I cried so much reading this book. It has taken me a few months to read it.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
email Colin and tell him how the book had affected me. I did email him through his web site, and he actually made the time to reply and thank me.
This Book made me feel...
Helpless. I am a parent of two children around Tim's age and it made me treasure every moment I have with them.
The author of this Book...
is an amazing man who writes about his tragedy in such heartfelt words. He also takes the time to thank everyone that has touched his life, and replies to everyone who contacts him.
I recommend this Book because...
It highlights the human aspect of bombings. Its a book that everyone should read, however hard it might be to read.
I don't recommend this Book because...
The amount of tissues that I went through could have planted a rain forrest.
Further Comments...
I cant recommend this book highly enough, Colin Parry is such an inspiration to us all. He has lost his eldest son to terrorists, and took the time to share Tim's life with us all. Dont let this child have died in vein, please read the book. It will affect you deeply, and upset you. But after reading it, you will want to do something to change the world for all the kids who are still here.
