This is the story of a man who does not give his family much of his time. His wife is critically injured in a water-skiing accident and his two daughters are emotional wrecks because of the family situation before and after the accident. He must face the task of taking his wife off of life support (per her Living Will) and deal with the fact of learning that she was having an affair. He also must deal with a complex sale of a large amount of family land as the trustee/attorney making the final decision on a deal worth big money to his family.

George Clooney gives one of his best performances as Matt King, the hapless head of this family.
