Summary of this Book...
This book has two major sections. The first part is a moving summary of Dr. Frankl's experience in a Nazi concentration camp. Frankl views his experience logically and provides detailed commentary about his behaviors and feelings as well as those of his fellow prisoners and the guards. Frankl's empathy and his eye for details make this part truly insightful; it offers a unique look into the minds of human beings when confronted with intense suffering.

In the second part, Frankl draws on what he observed about human beings and their ability to cope, in order to present his own therapeutic approach, Logotherapy. Logotherapy is a school of existential psychology that has one main objective, that of finding meaning in one's life. Frankl argues that what people truly seek is to find meaning in their lives. He then ventures to highlight numerous ways of achieving that meaning. Frankl also presents some unique insights into the the mentality of humans.

I especially liked...
I loved everything about this book. It felt as if I was sitting in the mind of a genius and viewing the world through his eyes. His writing style is truly engaging and his insights are simply amazing.
I didn't like...
There is nothing to dislike about this book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I wanted to read it again. I also wanted to send a letter to the author to thank him for writing this.
This Book made me feel...
Happy; as bizarre as this might sound given the fact that the first half of the book takes place in a concentration camp. But Frankl's book is truly uplifting, so is his therapeutic approach. They both emphasize human resilience and the value of human life. It is a truly inspiring book.
The author of this Book...
Viktor Emil Frankl, M.D., Ph.D. (1905 –1997)
I recommend this Book because...
It is a must-read. You're missing out on a lot if you do not read it.
