I'm all for suspension of disbelief in fiction, but this book didn't even make an attempt at realism or accuracy. A small-town sheriff is recruited to the CIA, who let her bring her cute doggy to training. She's so good that all the instructors have her help teach the classes. Her training is cut short so she can be promoted to hunt down the agency's number one terrorist threat. She regularly makes stupid decisions (like being assigned to stake out an opera and then leaving her post to be someone's plus-one) and is not held accountable at all... it's all just so ludicrous that it's hard to take it seriously. I know this author isn't exactly known for gritty realism, but this book was downright silly.
