About Me
I've been telling stories since I was seven, and four years later I realized I could write them down, so now I'm studying creative writing in college. In middle and high school, I published a few works in minor magazines for children, but since then my work has mostly entertained my fellow students.
Type of Writer
While I usually write short stories that take place in an alternate universe, I have also been known to dip into poetry.
Writing Style
I have a way of writing disjointed scenes about my characters which may or may not be tied into longer works.
Interests
Along with reading and writing, I enjoy sketching my characters as well as those of others. I also enjoy cooking and I play the saxophone.

Favorite Genres
Usually I read fantasy, and teen fantasy at that, but mostly, I read anything shoved in my face.
Favorite Books
My favorite book is J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, but I also love Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Niel Gaiman, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins, To Kill a Mokingbird by Harper Lee, and Alan Moore's graphic novel Watchmen.
Favorite Authors
I'm obviously a Barrie fan, and I think Alan Moore does nothing by accident. I'm also a fan of Tamora Pierce, Phillip Pullman, and Jhumpa Lahiri. I'm also fond of children's authors Chris Van Allsburg and Maurice Sendak.
Favorite Poets
Don't criticize me when I tell you my favorite poets are Shel Silverstien and Dr. Seuss. I think children's literature is often overlooked by today's society, and if it makes you feel any better, I'm also a fan of Coleridge, Hopkins, and Tennyson.
Favorite Quote
"To die will be an awfully big adventure" from Peter Pan. Some people say it's suicidal, but I remind them "death" doesn't have to be literal.
Favorite Music
I listen to almost everything, though I'm especially fond of film soundtracks, the Nuclear Whales, Flobots, DeVotchka, Badly Drawn Boy, Dave Brubeck and one album of classical sax over Gregorian chant. Pretty amazing stuff.
Favorite Movies
Not so much Peter Pan as Finding Neverland, as well as Bridge to Terebithia, Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil's Backbone, The Prestige, Little Miss Sunshine, Juno, The Great Mouse Detective, The Shawshank Redemption, December Boys, and About a Boy
