I have heard of falling flat on my face. Today, while puttering in the back yard and trying to get away from a bee, I fell flat and hard on my cheek bone. The bee got me while I was down and crying like a baby. Tonight I have deep purple eye, a cut eyelid and a wounded ego.

I've done that but I would sprain my ankles sometimes especially when I try to get away from a bee and Dottie would go after my shoelaces in the meantime. I hope you get better soon.
Oh man, that's harsh. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

I remember when I lived up in the mountains, I slipped on the ice and fell flat on my back. It knocked the breath out of me. My Border Collie came over and laid down on my chest, all 45 pounds of her. It didn't help me regain my breath but there wasn't much I could do about it at the time.

Sunday is Mother's Day. I think about my mother often. She had a smile that could melt an iceberg. Maybe she contributed in a small way to global warming. (It still makes me smile and feel better picturing her smile.)

Today is Justin Bieber's birthday (1994). It was also March 1, 1882 when Yellowstone became the nation's first (and the world's) national park.

Yellowstone was one of the National Parks, I've wanted to go see. Yosemite is another one and that's Northern California. I've lived here all my life and never been to the National Park. I've been to Point Loma National Monument, Sequoia National forest and Joshua Tree National Park.
It's Leap Year, so women can propose marriage to a man. I've always confused it with Sadie Hawkins Day, from the All Capp comic strip, in which women can ask single men on a date or to dance. Now I've learned that Leap Year Day is also known as Bachelor Day!

I'd argue that it's 2024 so a woman can propose marriage to whomever she'd like whenever she'd like.
It's Ash Wednesday. It is unusual and odd for Valentines and Ashes to mix on the same day. However, for the believer, those ashes lead to the ultimate love, one that excels romance.
