This month has been going well so far. Gotten a lot written and a lot edited. Right now I'm looking for some critiques on my query and synopsis (as seen here: "Invalid Item" ), as I'm feeling rather hateful of both. I've been staring at them too hard. I think I'm going to study now, or draw something. |
This is still Tam, by the way, and yes I still lurk around here sometimes. I'm working on making some big changes, such as gathering all my online names under the same one, so I thought I'd come and extend it to WDC as well. I will be making a writing website soon and putting all my (relevant) blog posts on there. I have yet to decide on a site to use, however. Right now I'm just waiting on some final beta replies. If they all get back to me in time, I should be looking at querying in a month or two. That's judging by the previous responses (out of three betas for each of my two books, they came back mostly positive with only mild tweaks suggested. That's two books with a positive ). So, how is everyone else doing with publication goals? I know I had at least one friend prepping for it this year. |
Figured I'd slip in an update, even if I don't go online very often. Currently Editing (and seeking beta-readers for): Circle of Gold Planning (final) Edits for: Descendants of Rose Currently Writing: The Red Count's Testimony All of the sudden winter has decided to be very cold. Three of my violin's pegs slipped, so I had to do major re-tuning. I also just finished beta-reading two novels, so I'm bored on the bench once more. |
Blog writing: "Invalid Entry" Still kind of busy elsewhere. Not sure if I'll ever be able to do much on here ever again, really. I'm finding my readers elsewhere, mostly, and am too busy reading their stuff in return to have time to pay attention to this site much. That said, if anyone needs me for anything, I still check my email most every day. |
It's been a while since I actually came online for more than two minutes, so I'll make an update. I've only gotten around to trying one site because I like to check them thoroughly. So far I have modest results. I have gotten more - and better - reviews, and have made some new acquaintances. The review tool is easier to use than WDC's is, too, which is nice. I haven't updated the stories/books I have posted on here. Forgive me if they're somewhat out-of-date, but it's pretty low on my to-do list right now. I also wrote up a short story (took me about an hour and a half),. If anyone is curious: "Invalid Item" . |
Mostly Scribophile - though it is very restricting since I cannot currently afford to go premium, and therefore am very limited on items. I'm not 100% sure I want to at this point, and that's partly because I've yet to try Critique Circle in depth. I'll let you know when I do, though. I think part of the problem here on WDC is the fact that there is virtually zero motivation for people to review others. But that's my opinion, it's still a perfectly good site... it just depends what level you are in writing and where you're taking it. I still think email beta-swaps have done me the most good overall - so I'm also seeking those. Sorry for getting so long-winded |
