Trying to learn about a hundred things at a time. Writing is one of them. The reason i want to learn writing is because i want to write lyrics. The reason i want to write lyrics is so i can sing them, so i am also taking singing lessons as well as writing lessons. The reason i want to sing is so i can have a vocalist in my music because without a vocalist it is rare that a song goes much of anywhere. Plus if i sing my own vocals i might attract a real vocalist that will really put the magic into the song. Preferably a female vocalist. Why do i want to make music, so i can express my views on society, which are not in general considered very good.
So i am learning singing, and writing, and lyrics, and music production (hip hop) and poetry and, oh i forgot to mention, i will sing at least sometimes in Chinese, but my Chinese is not that good so i am learning that as well.
I feel like i am a full time student with a full schedule. Except that i haven't made a regular schedule which is almost definitely why i miss a lot of classes that i want to take every day, like especially my vocal exercises. However the problem with that is that i'm not very good with keeping schedules.
so... that's what's up with me. Just a pile of online classes and trying to keep track of them all and keep up with them all without a school schedule or instructors or other students or anything that gives me any external motivation. It's all on me. But that's the way it is so i'll just have to deal with it.

I for one, can't wait to see what great things you will write and put in your portfolio. There are several other writers here who love writing lyrics and songs. bride would be one of them. SO, you have come to the right place!
I understand why you want to learn all of that, but do you have to try to learn all of that at once? It might make more sense to pick two or three things and concentrate on them, master them, then add others. That's just a suggestion, of course, you do you. Tina is right though, there are others on Writing.com who write lyrics. From what I understand, it is different than writing poetry, or a story, etc. I'm not an expert on that by a long shot, that is just what I have picked up from people who do write lyrics.
