The emotion for betrayal from self and the object of adoration is well conveyed. Your voice didn't change but your vernacular did, I am reading it again to cement my decision, but the vernacular change didn't seem fluid with the emotion (meaning I believe it detracted from the work, for me). I would like to see more of your work to see if your language remains or if it ages into a more perfect voice.
