This one has become a forgotten classic on this site. About a boy who steals from a wizard and is harshly punished for it. When it first came out, there was a lot of strong writing, and strange chapters that were dedicated to making this protagonist as miserable as humanly possible. As time went on, many of the new additions were limited to choice chapters. Chapters that added nothing or next to nothing, and were just there to create options that no one decided to follow up on.

Unfortunately, because of this, the interactive hasn't aged that well. But hopefully it will gain a following or readers to will dedicate some of their time to writing new chapters, dedicated to making the lead as miserable as possible.

Review of Fantasy Body Swap

This interactive story has all the makings of one that could on day be great. Divine Bandit had created some very fun scenarios for the writers to play with. His introduction chapters to each thread are very well done, and show the quality of writing that should be expected from contributors. However, some of the chapters are only two sentences to a paragraph long and aren't very enjoyable.

Then there Crimson, who does detailed chapters that flesh out the scenarios. He's/She's what every interactive story needs, interest from an outside source. With any luck, Crimson will pick a thread and bring it to its conclusion.

More chapters please!

I was looking up 'Superheroes' on this sites search bar, and this is the oldest surviving story that has gone without an update. I saw that there were only 5 entries and figured it'd be a quick read, if nothing else.

Wow, was I surprised. There were a lot of text heavy chapters, fleshing out a girl who I had heard nothing about. She isn't a Mary Sue, she works for things, she has insecurities, she has clear goals, and the reader roots for her.

Then it just stops. At first I thought the author quit the site, but he's been writing constantly for a while, just not on this story.

This story has potential and should be revisited. I can tell that the writer cares for the character, and probably really cared for the project when it was started.

Seriously, this story needs to be continued!

The only suggestions I have for improving it are just checking grammar and spelling before posting, as there are some noticeable, distracting, but easy to fix mistakes. That, and continue writing this!

Review of Wonder Woman GTS

Rated: 13+ | (3.5)
I almost wasn't going to review this, since there isn't many chapters that have been added, but then I realized that this was created back in 2010, so it had it's chance to grow.

I have nothing against growth stories, but they're not my cup of tea. Still, they can be fun, and don't feel forced within the superhero setting, where stuff like this used to happen on a monthly basis. Plus this story is about Wonder Woman, and everyone loves Wonder Woman.

What I like is that this interactive story doesn't seem to fetish the change itself, Wonder Woman growing is just used as a set up to tell a story. Some of the stories looked like they could be really fun or interesting if they were continued.

Special mention goes to the writer brss1313, who does a few good entries into other people's threads, in an attempt to keep them alive.

This is a pleasant surprise, and would have been rated much higher if there were more entries.

Wow! Okay, I'm not into the whole weight gain thing, or people getting fat thing, but I do like Superhero fanfictions and thought to give this one a try.

Wow! This interactive story manages to ignore the pitfalls of other stories on the site. Instead of having two dozen choice only chapters that no one ever picks, this one gets right to the taste with meaty chapters, full of description and and actual plot progression.

This is some of the best collaboration I've seen on this site, and I only wish that other interactive stories had writers who were as dedicated to continuing them.

The characters can act a bit out of character, especially the Bat-Family characters that are known for their self-control, but that's to be expected in this sort of story, and once you get past that, it's a very good read. Especially if you're into weight gain.

If I had one criticism about this, it's that the writers don't know when to end their stories. Once you get low on ideas, its time to wrap up the story and give some conclusion, whatever it may be. However, nearly every interactive story on this site suffers from this problem.

This is probably the best weight gain stories I've read on this sight, and probably some of the best Superhero stories too.
It's worth a read and even a re-read.

I'm not into the whole weight expansion thing, so please keep in mind that I am probably not the target audience for this story. It was recommended on my sidebar, and I thought I'd take a risk and read it. With that said, there are some surprisingly solid entries in this interactive story, with some standout ones from MrGiggles.

There are a lot of chapters just dedicated to choices, which is fine, but I wish they'd pick a thread and go with it. The creator of the story, Shadow seemed to be doing a solid job of trying to keep the threads going, and his writing noticeably improves as he goes along.

To the posters credits, some of the inflation parts make sense within the context of the Marvel Universe, it wasn't just an out of character inflation simulator.

As I write this, it's been almost four months since there have been any updates, and I'm tempted to leave the story for dead, but you never know. Maybe some brilliant writer will add some new chapters on the story.

As a superhero inflation story goes, you could probably do worse than giving this one a shot.

Marvel/DC Transformations has enough options that I'm surprised that more people haven't jumped on it. The premises are simple enough, your favorite characters from either Marvel or DC are undergoing some strange changes.

Unfortunately, the only story that seems to have gotten past its first chapter is the Spider-Man story. I feel bad rating this one, since I wrote it, and truth be told, it's not one of my better stories, although I do try and have fun with it.

It's a shame that we don't see more threads continued in this interactive story, since Comiccow6 is a solid writer and editor, and had added a few funny jokes into the chapters that I've written.

So if you want to mess up Spider-Man's life even more, or make the Fantastic Four switch powers, or turn Superman into Darksied's son, than get writing!

Maybe with some help, I'll finally finish the Spider-Man story on here.

Review of Batman: Changes

I just realized that no one has reviewed this interactive story. Let's fix that.

This story is about creating a little chaos in Gotham City. What happens when the city's most famous citizens shrink, grow, age, de-age, or change their genders? Now you can find out as several medium sized stories are actually completed. Which is very rare for this site.

If you want to read about the Joker's latest plan backfiring, or Selina's big heist having unintended consequences, than this story is probably the best one of the site to read.

The story's creator Michelle-the-Monster is a very talented editor, and will not just clean your chapters up, but in many cases, noticeably improve them.

This is one of my favorite interactive stories to collaborate and work on, so if your a fan of the heroes and villains of Gotham City, than you'll have a good time reading and writing here.

Review of Mirror of Reality
Review by no one of notice
Rated: 13+ | (4.0)
On the surface, Mirror of Reality looks like just your basic transformation adventure, but dig a bit deeper and you'll see that it is really an exercise in world building. If one major aspect changed, how would the entire world change along with it? How would society adapt, what did or didn't happen?

Writers get a short chance to develop the description of the world, before the main character, Jake, jumps to another one. There are some chances to cause some problems for Jake, but for the most part the stories developed so far seem to be void of conflict. Jake just goes with it until his next jump.

The story itself does suffer from too many option chapters that never get followed up one, but that's nothing too unusual for this website. Jake himself seems to be a blank slate that the reader can project themselves onto. Despite being a teen male with access to a magical mirror, there is no real defining traits about Jake. If this is a pro or con to the story depends on what type of experience you are expecting.

The developed chapters are descriptive and inspired enough that they do become a fun little read, causing you to think of how world would have evolved differently if the changes had occurred. Needless to say, these chapters are the highlight of this interactive story, now if only more of those types of chapters appeared. If we're lucky Jake will soon jump into a dimension where that's happened.

Review of Eye Candy Curse

Am I even allowed to review this story? I clearly have a bias, since I wrote over 90% of it.
Oh well, I am going to review it anyways.

This is by far the best story I have ever written on this site. It is also the best collaboration I've had with any other writer on a project.
The premise is simple enough, but the characters get fleshed out so early on that they are both a blast to read and write. Nearly everyone in the story has a believable amount of intelligence, making it harder to write, but more rewarding to read. The pacing is slower than most other stories on this site, but it allows for a more fleshed out world, and a few nice character moments.

With the main storyline with well over 100 chapters/entries, it reads as a novella about a week in the life of a cursed man. It's also one of the few stories on this site that is over 50 chapters and possesses a complete story structure, so you can read to your satisfaction, as the story offers a few good stopping points.

The story is not perfect though. It seems every time the main character meets the goth (with the exception of the opening chapter) the story takes a steep decline in quality. Some chapters/entries are clearly filler, and with such a descriptive curse, the story is probably at a PG-13 rating, instead of the hard R most other stories in this genre do. The biggest disappointment in the story though is that no one seems to want to add to it. The hard part is done, the story has been set up, now people can get creative and torture the main character a bit. Although they never seem to want to do that. Which is a shame, because I'm pretty drained on ideas for what else I could possibly do with these characters.

Still for all its flaws, I keep finding myself re-reading individual chapters, and laughing at the set ups. Defiantly worth a read.

What Are Friends For? Apparently making your life a living hell if you go by what the friends do in this story. The premise is simple, a guy wakes up in the body of his best friend's wife, it's what people do with it after that decides if the story is memorable or not.

Body switching is such a cliche at this point in culture that is serves only as the build up for an identity mishap. And if that identity mishap fails to deliver, than you're in a disappointing read.

The good news is that all the stories here (so far) start off strong, with the main character finding that they're in the strange situation and if other characters are helping of hindering their attempts to get out of it.

The main problem with the series is that there really isn't that many options for the character if he's trapped as the wife: the daily routines and duties are all laid out for them, there is only one guy they're allowed to be seen with, there reputations is established, etc. As a result the story possibilities become predictable.

The one exception to this is the story with Matt and Amber, where the author takes a complete left turn at the start. Which is a fairly affective (if degrading) story for the character, until you realize that the author planned no way out of the corner that the character was written into.

Despite the limitations that the story's concept has, there is still some fun to be had here, and anyone wanting to continue the story would be a welcome addition to the writers.

Review of The Great Shift
Review by no one of notice
Rated: 18+ | (5.0)
One of the greatest interactive stories on this site. I've yet to see another where all the posters are so dedicated to the atmosphere, rules, and potential of this scenario. Not only does it look at the internal conflict of the heroes, but the conflict surrounding society after the change.

It's fun, well paced, and even thought provoking in some areas, and should be read by everyone on this site who is interested in doing a story about an event of a world wide scale.
