This is the very first piece of writing that I have accessed since joining the site a few minutes ago.
It was picked out purely at random in order to hopefully give me an immediate impression of the standard and quality of work here, I am not disappointed!
Your poem really does benefit from being read and re-read in order to get truly into the structure and depth of the piece and I have enjoyed it more each time.
In particular I like the way that you have painted a clear picture of the ordinary and mundane before finally putting all of that into perspective with my favourite line: . "Those youthful fortunes ripen...." a very clever line designed to make the reader take a breath and consider the deeper meaning and real depth of the emotions you have shared with us.
If I needed a reason to upgrade my member status this first read has provided me with that.
Like a first child or relationship I will remember this for a considerable time - Thank You!
