Some really lovely words, and the intent of the writer is well achieved, but rather spoilt by the fact that it just doesn't scan - something that could easily be corrected - for example:

Aged and slow are the steps I take

Better would be....

Aged and slow are the steps that I take

Poetry is meant to be spoken, and the rhythm of the spoken word is an important element.
