a lover's poem
(However Life May Go)

I love that man.
(the idiocy of it all)

The simplicity
of his complexity
overwhelms my every emotion.
The affects of his words,
         harsh or tender,
turn me on so,
                             to the point where
I can't stop to think,
         What comes next?
Every touch
makes my body, mind, and spirit
                   QUIVER
with antici--
                     PATION--
(the idiocy of it all)

How simple love can be;
how serene.
So quietly serene you can hear a pin drop;
But at the drop of that pin
comes the biggest explosion you never expected
to turn your world upside down
                   and inside out.
You never meant to hurt him.
He was never hurtful intentionally.
Intentions...
         the best ones never turn out as planned.
But why plan a love so pure,
                                                 so true.
That man...
                    with all his
perfectly placed imperfections
                                                 loves me...
and my neverending flaws so imperfectly
I couldn't ask for a more perfect love.
(the idiocy of it all)

I love that man.
